What is Psychotherapy?

It is the route to a deeper connection - to the self and to others.

It is the way forward when you feel stuck.

It is having someone to support you through life’s struggles.

How can I help you?

In psychotherapy, you develop a trusting and supportive relationship with someone (me!) who takes a deep interest in your story, experience, and perspective.

I will help you develop your ability to regulate and understand your emotions, work your way through problems, and understand your patterns.

Self-knowledge means you get to choose the path forward in your life.

Some things I can help you with are:

  • identity / self-acceptance

  • emotional regulation

  • developing healthy relationships / setting boundaries

  • making life transitions (childhood to adolescence, adolescence to adulthood, new jobs, new relationships, becoming a parent)

  • low mood / depression

  • racing thoughts / thought loops / anxiety

  • working through past experiences

  • dealing with stress

  • developing healthy coping strategies

  • post-partum / parenting

  • infertility / pregnancy loss

  • body image issues

  • climate anxiety / climate grief

Remember - therapy is a collaborative process

This means we work together on setting goals for therapy.

These goals can also change as we go along.

My education and expertise will guide me in choosing the types of therapy that fit your situation.

I will always check in with you for feedback.

Therapy is sometimes hard - because growth is hard!

AND I know you can do it.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

— Carl Rogers
